Fruits & Veg & Heart disease

Now get this!

The results of a massive analysis of scientific literature regarding fruit and vegetable consumption and the risk for heart disease will be published in the October 2006 edition of the Journal of Nutrition. (How’s that for getting fresh news?!).

In this meta-analysis, 9 large studies were analysed and the total number of participants in the studies were 129 701 women and 91 371 men.

The results showed clearly that people can dramatically reduce the risk of heart disease just by eating more fruits and vegetables.

More specifically, you can reduce your heart-disease risk by 4-7% by just eating one more fruit or vegetable per day! The American Heart Association currently recommends at least 5 portions of fruit and 5 portions of vegetables daily.

So, be sure to consume enough wholesome fruits and veggies everyday.

Regards

Dr Anton
